Sports, Dancing and Home

#37 is to attend as many home South sporting events as possible. This week I attended our softball game against UAB with my friends Andrew and Lindsey. It started off a slow game, but we pulled through winning 4-0! I had a blast cheering on our girls and eating Nachos, because what is a softball game without Nachos? Maybe this coming week I will go to a basketball game! We had some good photo-bombers too! IMG_0213

#43 is to go home as much as possible. I was able to go home 2 weekends in a row, not necessarily under great circumstances, but I still got to see all those wonderful people I call family again. I even got to see and spend a good amount of time with my brother, Alec, and his girlfriend, Deanna, which was great! I went with my dad’s fiancé, Marissa, to pick up her wedding dress and to scope out a bridesmaid dresses which was a ton of fun. I’m not usually your girly girl who loves those sorts of things, but it was great to spend some time with Marissa and MaKenna talking wedding stuff! October will be here before we know it! I also thoroughly enjoyed watching MaKenna drag Deanna around with a leash like she was a dog.JPEG image-F74231960571-1

#76 swing dance! This was added to my list when Jaguar Productions put on a Swing Dance event. It was a fun night full of dancing, listening to an awesome Jazz band and crazy photo booth pictures! Just a side note, dancing will tell you real quick just how out of shape you are!

Also, I am enrolled in a dance class as an elective this semester. We did ballet this week, OH MY GOODNESS, I have a whole new respect for people who do ballet their whole life. Class was Thursday and still today, Sunday, my calf muscles ache with every step! And, watching super athletic guys attempt ballet is quite hilarious. I’m sure some interesting stories will come from this class so I’ll be sure to share them with everyone!

Mardi Gras, Netflix and Letters

#62. Go to Mardi Gras parades. This past week I was able to go to one of the many Mardi Gras parades in Mobile. In Mobile Mardi Gras is HUGE, it is a real holiday here. I have had a hard time getting into the whole Mardi Gras thing since it is not a big deal where I grew up. Schools down here are out for an entire week during the week of Fat Tuesday. On Fat Tuesday USA even is out for a Holiday. Doctors offices shut down for the day of Fat Tuesday. But it turns out I think I might actually like this whole Mardi Gras thing. Parades are fun and maybe even next year I can go to a Ball with some friends. Thanks, Meghan, for talking me into standing out of the side of the road for over an hour with you to catch beads and Moon Pies. FullSizeRender 2

#63. Find a new Netflix series. I have decided to watch Gilmore Girls from the beginning. I always watch the reruns when they come on TV so why not start from the beginning and experience the Gilmore Girls story.

#16. Write from the heart letters to all of your people. This week I sat down for a good little bit to write letters to those people who mean the world to me. I am so thankful to have friends that are like family. Hannah, Kaylyn and Emilee, be on the watch for your letters via snail mail this week!

Also this past weekend I was able to go home. I love being able to spend time with my family. Living 5 hours away from home, that doesn’t happen as often as I would like. I couldn’t make it through life without the constant support and encouragement of my family! Next I just need to make it down to see my mom and step-dad! South Florida watch out because I will be on my way as soon as life lets me get there!
